I would use a dmx remote for this which would then run the plugin. if you want it on any change no matter what, that will be more intensive and maybe worthwhile to just run the constant loop.
to avoid a constant loop (probably worthwhile), if you want it to trigger, say, when the fader goes from 0 to 1, you can use one dmx remote with a dmx profile of x=0 y=0; x=1 y=100, assign the lua plugin (or macro to start the lua plugin) in remote input setup, and store it at full in that executor.
if you wanted it to trigger at any change, I'd use about 50 of them (since you're likely going to move a fader at least 2% on each move) with different dmx profiles, all stored at full in that executor.
