There are many solutions to that problem. Use a switch that connect to both networks/switches using two vlans. One for each network (MA-Net/Art-Net). The port to the laptop to have access to both vlans. DO NOT BRIDGE THE TWO NETWORKS using the third switch, because of missing vlan configuration!by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
You can also use broadcast instead of unicast. See spec:by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
I noticed in BOMAC the same problem. I solved that by using two different ART-NET IP addresses on the network adapter. One for use in GMA2 and one for the other software.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
It is no clear what is shutting down. 1) entire Laptop/PC 2) GrandMa2 software when 1) check for heat problems check for bluescreens when 2) check windows event log for access violations do a ram checkby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum

When you are interested in very deep network stuff, then take a look at how wifi transfers multicast packets. Things getting really interesting, because you can jam your wifi really easy. All this is also related to the wifi standard your are using.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
GMA uses a multicast protocol! It is NOT a good practice and it is not recommend to use WIFI.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
You can also hold the "select" button and then press as many exec's you want to start. then use "go+" in master section to "GO" all selected executors.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
I have never tried to start so many executor at once. You can use this cmd-line to start 201,211,206 and 216: Go Executor 201+211 + 206 +216 When you replace the GO by SELECT you can use the master section "GO" to start those 4 executors.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
What kind of node are you using? Is it in MA2-Mode?by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Do you really want to "remote" or is all installed on the same pc and are you using onPC ? If yes, you can use a virtual midi cable like "loopBE" or others. When you are really want to control a console and you are not able to connect a second midi device for connecting the console, you can use my midi to art-net converter to remote the console using Art-Net instead of midby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Very easy with 360 degree pan moving heads like the spike. Just put the movers into the rotation in a phase. In the video you see that the spike is always 100% and you see the beam on the back of the stage. - Easy with not 360 degree moving heads. Make two positions presets: 1) Movers look left 2) Movers look right Then create an effect containing position and dim. For pan use tby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum

I have no information from MA, but there is an extension: Maybe it is usable with onPC. When we look at dot2, this extensions uses network for connection to console or onPC. This could be the same on the gma3 extension. But i also found a sentence: Extension ... will be remote connected to the grandMA3 full-size, light or replay unit models. No onPC or Compact Consoles in that sentencby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Edit: This is related to MA2: If parameters are unlocked you can output them anywhere you want. You can also output them multiply times using art-net and/or sacn. this does not affect the parameter count. I doesn't matter where you are going to output the parameter. The only thing - i must be unlocked by ma-hardware. A parameter is a single function of a lamp like "tilt" and tby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
First idea, create a own form, which has a "lower resolution" than a sin wave. Then just exchange to form in that effect with a temp button.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Sorry, i don't get what you want to archive. But i can explain how a (absolute) effect works: There is a low value and a high value. the form says how the console cross fades between this two values. Using the phase you can adjust the start value, related to selected form. The middle in a sin wave is at 0 and 180. a relative effect does the same, but the calculate value is added to the cuby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
MA-Net2 and MA-Net3 are different - Short answer is NO. When you are using Art-Net - Yes gma2 onpc nodes wont give GMA3 parameters if you are talking about onPC.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
You can use TCP/IP because consoles support "telnet". This is equal to the cmd line in the console.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
You can patch the fixture as "channels". Then switch the faders to "channel"-faders. This is comparable to and old x-channel-dmx console.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum

You can generate midi time code from console. I'm not sure if FLS can read it. but timecode work very good to have synced shows (light/sound). an other solution is that you send a midi note to FLS from console, which starts simply the clip. if you are using onPC: you can run both programs on the same machine. for the midi signal you need a virtual midi cable. I'm using LoopBE (https://wwby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Easy solution without searching the show files folder which is changing each version. Use a USB stick. Plug it in, then in MA save any show to it. This creates a folder structure on the stick. Then you have a much quicker access to the show files, fixtures etc. folder.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
To get some inspiration: Luke Straton uses POS Keyboards see his Youtube stuff. Bernd Ott did his own MIDI-CMD Wing using an arduino: (German site) My advice is if you have faders use Art-Net/DMX-In because paging works like on real consoles/wings. mr_rabbit Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi! > > I am educating myself in lighting desby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum

GMA2 OnPC does not support multitouch.by qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
Press the small button on the node. After few seconds the display will change. Then it tells you what kind of node you have. Only "onPC" enables parameters. If you enable parameters with other MA hardware, you can use the node to output dmx even it is not "onPC". Firmware version must match the software. You can upgrade/downgrade the firmware with any console or onPC soby qr123de - grandMA2 discussion forum
