Rex, I'm sorry you haven't been able to reach anyone in sales at ACT. Don't forget you can always call or email support - we can help you too. EDIT: I see that you did, and someone on the team got back to you. :)by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
You have to set the VPreset attribute to the desired presettype, and then type in the specific IDs of the presets into the VP1 and VP2 calculators. For example, if you wanted to use presets 2.7 and 2.23 as the presets for Bitmapping Low/High... - VPreset = Position - VP1 = 7 (or 23) - VP2 = 23 (or 7)by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum

The same attribute cannot exist more than once in a single "instance" of a fixture. For example, you cannot have the "Dim" attribute more than once in a single instance. If you have a 4-cell blinder that you're using in a mode with individual cell control, you can have "Dim," "Dim2," "Dim3," and "Dim4" all in a single instance if you wanby Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum

Don't need to go through the root - you can just assign it to the Fixture or Channel directly: Assign Fixture x /color=y Assign Channel x /color=y Here's the math for y: y = (Red Value) + (Green Value * 256) + (Blue Value * 65536) For example, R/G/B = 50/180/222 y = (50) + (180 * 256) + (222 * 65536) y = 50 + 46,080 + 14,548,992 y = 14,595,122 Assign Fixture x /color=14595122by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 Macro share
There isn't really a "best" way - it depends on what you want to do with them. You need multiple bitmap fixtures if you want to map more than one piece of content simultaneously. If you're only ever doing one piece of content at a time, then you're probably fine with just one bitmap fixture (you might want a second one just to make transitions between two pieces of content easy, if yby Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
7 is the maximum number of Bitmap boxes allowed in a single layout. Instead of using additional boxes, you could instead place fixtures that should be doing the same thing on top of each other in the Layout. (If you want to keep them where they are for you to be able to look at the Layout and know what they're doing, simply copy the Layout and use one for bitmapping and one for visualization.)by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
dot2 onPC can output one universe of sACN for free. Depending on what you need the software to do, this is of course going to be your cheapest option. If you must use the grandMA2 software, then an onPC node is going to be your cheapest bet. You could also look for a used NSP or MA1 node.by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
Chasers ignore timing. Instead of enabling the Chaser function, change all of your cue triggers to Follow. You could also do this as an effect. There's a predefined effect called "Dim/Tilt Flyout" that you could start from.by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
Do you have any MA hardware connected? Specifically any that licenses parameters for onPC (Command Wing, Fader Wing, onPC node, NPU)? If not, you will not be able to output DMX via any method (sACN or otherwise).by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
If I recall correctly, there's one set of HueSat attributes that does visualize and one set that doesn't (My recollection is that the ColorHSB attributes do visualize, but I'm not positive.) Perhaps that Lustr profile is using the ones that don't visualize. If you haven't done any programming yet, you could just exchange the attributes. To clarify, "OutFade" is for dimmer values that are going down in that cue as compared to the prior cue. Other consoles might call it "DownFade" or "DownTime" or something like that. OffTime or MasterFade is the property you're looking for. Mark gave you two ways to set that above.by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum
Quote3.3 Release Notes Executing onPC.exe with parameter -s allows the user to specify a show file for loading. Example: <path>/gma2onpc.exe -s:my_showfile This loads the showfile my_showfile.show.gz from the gma2/shows-folder of the corresponding software version.by Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum

The internal screens (Command + 2 Thru 4) cannot be scaled - they're locked to the resolution of the internal screens on a console. If you're on "Multi-Screen" or "Single Screen (Internal Only)" mode, you can change the resolutions of Extern 1 and 2. This bulletin (open link in new tab) tells you how to change modes, and you'll also see External Resolution in the same placeby Ryan Kanarek - grandMA2 discussion forum

Go to Setup -> Import/Export -> Import -> Macros. Tap on "Predefined". Tap on "Name" at the top of the list on the right to highlight everything. Press {Import} at the bottom.
