Setup is as:
GrandMA2 runs on ArtNet to ELC dmXLAN node 8gb. Outputs from ELC node goes to ELC DT229 splitter. From the splitter, the DMX signal runs trough Cat6 SFTP network on the catwalk to the stage, where it becomes XLR5 again to the trusses, with all Robe MMX fixtures and Robe 800 LEDWashes. Everything in this rig can do RDM, and is configured to do so.
BUT.... the desk does not receive RDM.. When I hook up my laptop with the ELC software on it, it gets everything on the stage, but not the room. I think the Cat6 network does not have enough resistance, which should be 120 ohm. The rest of the cables are Tasker C128, works perfect, but lower resistance.
When I take a long DMX cable, and connect the output from the DT229 to the first MMX, nothing.
When I connect the desk trough output B with the first MMX, I'm having RDM communication with all of the fixtures, six Robe MMX Washbeams.
So why o why o why is this not working on ArtNet, but it works on hard copper DMX?? O when I plug in a network cable from desk to fixture, and set it to run on MA net, I receive just fixture info, no sensors.
It's a live venue, I have to service the whole rig myself, about 108 fixtures. RDM would be verry handy to check for lamp hours, sensors, errors, how bloody hot they get at 11 meters high, that stuff.
